A popular newsletter that tracks real estate, economic
and political trends in the High Desert will be published
throughout the Western United States once a year by a major
real estate publication firm. The Bradco High Desert Report, published by The Bradco
Cos. in Victorville since 1993, was included in the August
edition of Western Real Estate Business, a monthly real
estate newsletter that circulates in 10 states, said Joseph
Brady, president of The Bradco Cos. Western Real Estate Business has a circulation of more
than 20,000. It's published by France Publications Inc. in
Atlanta, one of the largest publishers of regional
commercial real estate publications in the United States.
Its other publications include Southeast Real Estate
Business, Northeast Real Estate Business, Hartland Real
Estate Business and Texas Real Estate Business, according to
a release. The five-year publication agreement with The Bradco Cos.
was announced Sept. 4. The Bradco Cos. will pay $15,000 to
have its newsletter included in Western Real Estate
Business's annual Inland Empire special, which is published
every summer. Other financial details of the agreement weren't
disclosed. Brady and France Publications reached agreement
in May after six weeks of negotiations, but did not announce
the deal until early September. "I didn't want to say anything until we published with
them," Brady said. "When they first approached us about
doing this I thought it was a crank call. But I knew it was
a good idea because it will help give more credibility to
San Bernardino County and the High Desert." Brokers and developers are seeking information about the
High Desert, said Mike Piersa, sales manager with Western
Real Estate Business. "A lot of people are looking at the High Desert and they
aren't all in Las Vegas or Southern California," Piersa
said. High Desert Report is "probably the best source of
information out there on the High Desert."
The Bradco Cos. is one of the largest commercial,
industrial and land brokerage companies in the High Desert.
Brady began publishing the High Desert Newsletter as a way
to promote the Victor Valley to developers and commercial
brokers throughout the United States. The newsletter "has never been about making money," Brady
said. "It's been about getting the word out about the High
Desert. If some of my competitors make deals off [the France
Publications deal] I'll be delighted." About 4,000 subscribers, all of them in the United
States, pay $59.95 a year for the High Desert Report, which
is published in print only. Originally a quarterly
publication, for the last four years the newsletter has
published about three times a year, or whenever Brady
believes there is enough real estate news generating from
the High Desert to merit putting out a report. “We don’t want to put something out just to put something
out,” Brady said. “We don’t want to cheapen the product. But
we will have to be ready whenever they call us for a
report.”
